When
the first class moved into the school facilities in
March 1998, the school consisted of two buildings that
were made available by the Shey Phoksumdo National Park.
The space of the school, sleeping and living area was
rather restricted, but sufficed for the first years.
However, the demand for a school education has risen -
more and more parents would like to send their children
to Tapriza Culture School. The space quickly became too
cramped, and the construction of a new school house
became inevitable. A suitable piece of property was
found in a place safe from avalanches and rockslides and
was either purchased from the landowners or given as a
donation. Today the children and teacher have several
sleeping and teaching rooms, a library and a kitchen. In
the whole the building contains 18 rooms. Below the
building are the toilets and the washing rooms. In 2001
the students and staff moved into the new facilities
after the inauguration ceremony with rituals, speeches
and dance performances.
