In
the autumn of 1997 the Swiss Social Anthropologist Marietta Kind in
Zurich founded the organisation Tapriza Verein after her return from
Dolpo where she lived over a period of years and worked on her
research. The NGO aims to further the educational and cultural goals
of the local initiative for the school project, collect and manage
donations, and inform interested people in Europe about the school's
progress. Tapriza Verein works closely together with the NGO Tashi
D. in Dolpo and Friends of Dolpa in USA led by Catherine Inman. Both
NGO presidents keep direct contact with school leaders and the
people from the villages, as far as the circumstances such as
distance and the remoteness of the villages allow it.
Tapriza
Verein officially received tax exemption on 20th October 1998
and therefore allows tax-free donations.
