TASHI D. NGO and the team in Nepal
Committed and democratic
The locally managed NGO TASHI D. (Tapriza Association for Social Help Initiatives - Dolpo) is our partner organization in Nepal and the legal body responsible for the Tapriza School. TASHI D. was founded in 1998 to ensure the local anchoring and long-term sustainability of the project. The NGO is officially registered with the Nepalese government and the Social Welfare Council.
The board of TASHI D. consists of representatives from the village communities of Ringmo and Pugmo as well as experienced educators. This ensures that the concerns and needs of the local population are directly incorporated into the school's development. Decisions are made democratically and in close coordination with the village elders and the school committee.
Local and recognised
The abbreviation TASHI D. is derived from the Tibetan word "Tashidelek," which is used as a greeting and means good fortune and blessings. The organisation is officially recognised as a non-profit in Nepal. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) "Tapriza Association of Social Help in Dolpo" is officially registered with the District Administration Office of Dolpo under the official number (Permanent Account Number PAN of the Government Tax Office) PAN No. 301734901, dated September 14, 2004 (Nepalese date 29/05/2061), and undergoes an annual government audit of its accounting. The NGO is registered as a non-profit with the "Social Welfare Council" in Kathmandu, meets the corresponding requirements, and is subject to continuous review.
Together with the leadership of the NGO Board, the school is supported and co-governed by the Parents' Council, which includes representatives from the surrounding villages.
