Our Team - Switzerland - Nepal - USA

We work together

The Tapriza Association Switzerland supports the operation of a locally managed school in the remote Dolpo district of Northwest Nepal through our partner organization Tashi-D. NGO in Nepal. This enables a Tibetan-speaking minority in Nepal to attend school and offers the opportunity to learn their own language, history, and culture alongside the national curriculum. Another sponsoring body is the American organization Friends of Dolpa. It has been supporting the school since its founding.

The Tapriza NGO Switzerland

The non-profit organisation Tapriza Switzerland was founded in 1997 to reach interested parties and patrons in Europe who support the school in Dolpo with their contributions. The Tapriza NGO is officially registered as a non-profit organisation according to the decree of October 20, 1998, which makes the tax exemption of donations possible.

As far as the remoteness of Dolpo allows, we are in direct contact with the headmaster, the teachers, and the village population. We provide regular information through an annual report, a newsletter, and on our homepage. In Switzerland, we organise events and lectures. It is important to us to keep the administrative effort as low as possible so that every donation can be used effectively for the project. All board members work on a voluntary basis.
