The film from Nepal deals with the Tibetan Bön tradition in Mustang in northern Nepal, where an aging lama waits for his son to return from the USA so that he can take over his spiritual role. Directed by Kesang Tseten, the film captures the region's harsh landscape, subsistence living, and fragile balance with nature. As globalization reaches even this remote valley, migration and modern influences threaten long-cherished customs. The lama's son, who now works as a sushi chef in New York, is torn between two worlds - and his decision could determine the future of his community.
